日本國寶中田英壽宣布以29歲之齡高掛球靴。

上季外借至保頓的中田英壽，最後一場上陣的比賽就是世盃分組賽日本1-4負巴西一仗。

「我在半年前已決定我將在世界盃後退休。」中田英壽在其官方網站上表示。

「我將不會以職業球員身分出現在球場內，但我不會與足球斷絕關係。」

中田英壽在意甲度過七個年頭，分別效力羅馬、帕爾馬、博洛尼亞、費倫天拿及佩魯賈。

however, he hasn't pick up his top form since he moves to England..
