I believe 韋達 is a clever guy, for 大熱門, he doesn't like to win it very much due to :

1. no challenge
2. easily attacked tactically by other horses
3. high pressure

As he rides more and more in hk, he becomes more and more clever.

Also, he doesn't like to win heavy horses.
If you understand him, you may know which race he likes to win.

It may applies to other riders also, but it happens to him most as :
- he's getting older and older and need to use his brain, and saves his energy
- he rides a lot of races and hot horses as he got good reputation (and he looks good)

e.g. 「黃鑽石」
on the super-hot race, he lost it.  But on the next race, when many guys question about its problem, he wins it.

I don't think that it is 100%造馬 because lacking of evidence for this hot horse without place or Q.   In fact, ride a hot horse with odds 1.6x might put a very high pressure on a jockey who would be more alert during the course of riding ....  he might not overcome the fear of loss of that hot horse...... ended up with a below average  performance standard.

仲有一樣野 , 韋達真係好錫身 , 仔細老婆嫩 , 隻馬有小小事佢都即刻拉停 , 其實馬會應該出多d聲 , 如果個個jockey 都學佢 , 咁仲駛跑馬ge , 排隊嬴馬咪得lor , 最煩係一樣野 , 佢拉停ge 馬大部份之後都check 唔到有問題 , 太大疑點了!!

Sorry mate, that means making horse la

not performing to the utmost for the horse and jockey, it is being manipulated, may not be by shark, at least by himself la

holding in this race, then win in the next, that is a big problem

it cannot be explained why the horse can improve so quick, not one horse,

but several in a season, it means only he knows when the horse will win, that is manipulation to me,

same as shark behind stock market, I see buyer getting more, I will dump the stock to low, it is manipulation.
